Featuring over 120 subjects, mostly L.A. natives, the book spotlights the real faces shaping the city’s cultural identity, far from Hollywood stereotypes. Equal parts fashion document and cultural time capsule, City of Angels is a raw, intimate tribute to the soul of modern L.A.

“As City of Angels makes abundantly clear, though, there’s really no such thing as an ‘ordinary’ Los Angeles resident; this city is set apart by its sharp and distinctive street style, and Benjamin skillfully captures its evolution across the various zip codes and demographics that make L.A. one of the most diverse cities in America.”

Vogue

“City of Angels captures the often overlooked style of Los Angeles, a robust collection of individuals and fashions that manages to do the near-impossible task of synthesizing the multicultural style of a sprawling metropolis.”

GQ

“With ‘City of Angels’ the world is invited to understand that L.A. style has never just been about the clothes. It’s about the way people move here, the way they contribute to the city and each other.”

LA Times

“It’s easy to go to Los Angeles and be dazzled by the bright lights of Hollywood. But that’s far from the case with Jasmine. She’s plugged into the subcultures that have shaped the look and feel of LA from the fringes and has taken that distinctive laidback attitude into her work as a stylist. Her boundless curiosity has led her to the most unexpected corners of the city. When it comes to mapping out the true style of LA, I couldn’t think of a better guide.”

Chioma Nnadi
